Joshua 1:9

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.

This promise, given to Joshua, is present with us in our everyday lives. Repeatedly the Bible urges people to be strong and courageous. The reason is that fear and discouragement continuously affect our personal lives. Life is full of experiences that generate discouragement, apprehension, and doubt. However, it is not in our personal strength that we are supposed to overcome these obstacles. It is in the promise that we are never alone in anything that we experience. As you start your week, be comforted in knowing that God is with you in every situation. It is in His strength that we are strong. The red sea parting, God of the old testament, is alive and well in our lives every day.
